After a rainy wet week…

…we now have sunshine again, although it is intermittently cloudy – which is quite nice as when the sun is out it is hot! We had the shock of our first electricity account last week – so the cooler weather will help keep that down. Admittedly, at first, we did have the air conditioner on quite a bit while we adjusted to the Fiji humidity and heat. Also our apartment is quite spacious so it takes quite a lot to cool a big area down.

I spent this last week in the Clinic as Luisa, the receptionist and vet assistant, had to take some unexpected time off. So I got to pat dogs, hold a dog’s leg while the Vet technologist cut toenails, even assisted in surgery by holding up the IV bag, until my arms ached:) Below are a couple of photos, just not with me in them – the last one has my hand in it though!!! Didnt get to do much of my real work but this was an interesting change of activity.

Animals Fiji staff Wendy and Waruna helping a dog
Luisa tattooing a cats ear which shows it is desexed.

Clinic pictures, Wendy and Waruna neutering a dog, Luisa tattooing the ear of a cat that has been desexed, this identifies it as being desexed so it doesn’t accidently be operated on again and Wendy clipping a dogs nails – yes that is my hand holding the dogs leg 🙂
